Sugar Cookies

What to do with leftover buttercream icing...Why make some cookies to top with it, of course! Usually the balls of dough would be rolled in sugar before pressing, but since I planned to ice them, I left that step out.

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder

Cream the wet ingredients. Combine the dry ingredients and mix them with the wet mixture. Roll into one inch balls and flatten with the bottom of a glass. Bake at 350' for 10-12 minutes.
