Banana Bites

Ashley at Love From Home is hosting a fun little project this summer: The Summer of my Youth Link-Up Party. At the beginning of each month, participants will link-up to posts that are a throwback to their summers as a child. Fun idea, right?

This isn't an actual recipe, but just a mash-up of things that make for a fun little snack...and one that is reminiscent of my childhood! I whipped up this little treat for an after school snack for my wee ones today, and they were delighted.

2 large bananas, cut into 2-3 inch pieces
2 squares of baker's chocolate
Unsweetened shaved coconut, sprinkles, chopped walnuts, or whatever else you might like

Melt chocolate in microwave or over double boiler. Poke each banana slice with a stick, and dip in melted chocolate to coat. Dip in desired topping. Allow chocolate to set, and chill in refrigerator until ready to serve.

Check out the rest of the participants at Love From Home.
